Beasley & Henley Selected for Iconic Chicago Project

Industry leader Beasley & Henley Interior Design has been chosen by developers McCaffery Interests and Hines, to create the interior detailing and interior design for the 100,000 sqft ft amenity package at the iconic Lincoln Commons, a $350 million residential and retail project in Chicago IL.

Lincoln Commons is a 6 acre development of 540 luxury apartment units in 2 towers, 60 condominiums and 160,000 square feet of retail. This important development is on the site of the former Children's Hospital of Chicago, which was vacated in 2012. The Beasley & Henley Interior Design team has been tapped to design the extensive public spaces, luxury amenity areas and prominent model units of these high-end multi-family towers.

Beasley & Henley’s initial steps of programming and space planning have begun as the design team configures the uses and modalities of each area and how they will interact. These designs lay the foundation of the uses for the building spaces and help determine the success of the sales, rentals and lifestyle of residents for years to come.

In the next year the Beasley & Henley team will go through the Concept Designs, Schematics and Interior Design Documents before moving into the furnishing and finishes.

Beasley & Henley Design Principal Troy Beasley notes;

“Visual and tactile – the finishes and furnishings will be hyper-sensory, cutting edge and intuitive. Like the overall design, they will be novel and innovative.”

Beasley continues that while the process of demolition has begun, the developer is making the unusual move of trying to preserve and reuse some of the site's attractive and vintage assets.

“That’s exciting for us as designers,” he says. “Usually the cool, vintage character pieces get trashed along with everything else. We are thrilled to have this opportunity to add some of the old into the new.”

Lincoln Commons is expected to start construction by the end of 2016 with completion by 2018.
