Greenery is back.
The Pantone Color Institute, the world-renowned authority on color, announced the 2017 Color of the Year as greenery, a vibrant yellow-green shade. It inspires renewal, restoration and revitalization.
And how fitting for Southwest Florida.
In a sub-tropical environment, greenery is all around us. Neapolitans relish in this zesty color found in our homes, in our fashion and right in our backyards.
The Color of the Year is a symbolic color snapshot — an expression of a mood or attitude taking place in our global culture. In 2016, Pantone brought us rose quartz and serenity, an attractive pairing of a rose tone and cool, tranquil blue. 2015 was the year of marsala, a deep, seductive red hue, while 2014 was all about "radiant orchid," a lavender-inspired purple.
"With most of the interiors we do in Naples, people are still grooving on the neutrals," said Stephanie Henley, principal designer with Beasley and Henley Interior Design. "How easy it is to put that green in that tone."
