COUNTERTOPS

statement-making surfaces

At Beasley & Henley Interior Design, we are seeing countertops evolve into statement-making surfaces that blend artistry with durability—no longer just functional, they’re now a defining design element in kitchens, bathrooms, and even utility spaces. Natural stone still reigns, but with a twist: heavily veined marble, especially Calacatta Viola and Arabescato Corchia, is being used with dramatic intent—bold, bookmatched slabs across islands and backsplashes create an immersive, gallery-like effect. Quartzite continues to rise in popularity for its strength and intricate patterns, while ultra-matte quartz surfaces in warm taupes and soft mushroom tones offer a quiet luxury alternative. On the more avant-garde end, we’re layering textures—leathered finishes, flamed granite, and honed soapstone add a tactile richness that feels both grounded and elevated. But what’s most exciting is the shift toward sustainability: recycled glass and terrazzo-style composites are making a comeback, now in refined, monochromatic colorways that feel modern and bespoke. We’re even seeing mixed materials in the same space—waterfall edges in stone. The 2025 and beyond, countertops are no longer just a surface—it’s a curated centerpiece that sets the tone for the entire home.
